Visit the Reserve
Feeding Guide
We warmly welcome visitors from local communities and from afar. At the same time, we recognise the need to educate everyone on feeding our donkeys. There is clear signage on the paddock fences around the reserve with clear instructions of what to feed as a treat. Please follow them, as we are unable to be onsite 24/7 to monitor the type/amount of food being given.

Safe foods include 1 small handful size portion per day, per donkey, of chopped up apples or carrots and silverbeet only. Donkeys should not be fed under any circumstances, potatoes, brassicas (cabbage, brussel sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower), or any member of the allium family (onions, garlic, leeks, etc.). Neither should they be fed bread or cakes. Our donkeys are not a waste disposal unit! It is important to try and limit treats as this could cause too much weight gain, bloating and other health issues (much like humans). When feeding them, it's best to place the food in the palm of your hand to avoid any injuries.
Please remember that the donkeys are wild animals and must be respected, especially with small children.

Parking
There are 3 spaces at the main entrance, street parking and further parking up the top of the hill.
Dogs
Please keep dogs under control on a leash in all areas at all times.
Group Visits
We welcome group visits to the reserve, including school visits. There is no booking required. However, if you would like for one of our Donkey Managers to be onsite to provide some education, please get in touch with us to check availability.
